MATERIAL & FLEXIBILITY

All flowers and cake toppers are handmade to order using Flexible Paste, gum paste, fondant, wafer paper, or a combination of these materials.

Primary Material: Flexible Potato/Corn Starch Paste

Flexible Paste is a vegetarian edible paste made from sugar, potato or corn starch, water, coconut oil, glycerin, and glucose.

Like all sugar-based decorative mediums, flexibility may vary depending on temperature, humidity, storage, and handling conditions.

Temperature Guide

The information below is based on my personal testing and experience and is provided as a general care guide only.

  • Cool temperatures (60°F / 16°C or below): Flowers may become firmer or more brittle. Handle with extra care.

  • Moderate temperatures (72°F / 22°C and above): Flowers generally remain flexible and easier to position.

  • Warm temperatures (76°F / 24°C and above): Flowers may become very soft and should be handled gently to avoid distortion.

These temperature ranges are general guidelines only and are not a guarantee of flexibility, as environmental conditions may affect each piece differently.

STORAGE & HANDLING

Once you receive your flowers, keep them tightly sealed in their original packaging or place them in an airtight container until you are ready to use them.

  • Do not refrigerate or freeze.

  • Store in a cool, dark, dry location.

  • Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat.

  • Handle gently during placement, transportation, and cake assembly.

  • When properly stored, sugar flowers can have a long shelf life.

NON-EDIBLE SUPPORTS

Some flowers and cake toppers may contain wires, toothpicks, floral tape, or other structural supports.

These components are not edible and must be removed before consumption. Always inspect decorations before serving the cake.

HANDMADE NATURE

Every Sha’SweetsArts piece is individually handcrafted. Slight variations in color, size, shape, and details are normal and are part of the handmade process.

Colors may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, and screen settings.

ALLERGEN NOTICE

Flowers are nut-free; however, they are produced in a home workspace that is not a certified nut-free facility. Allergen-free conditions cannot be guaranteed.
